On the 13th and 14th June, CEPH co-hosted the Centre for Economic Policy Research’s (CEPR) 11th Economic History Annual Symposium. The event was held in Trinity College Dublin, in the Business School’s TANGENT@Portal work space.
Presenters spoke on a wide variety of topics, ranging from Egyptian corporate performance in the 20th century to the distribution of knowledge by monastic libraries in Italy in the 1800s. It was encouraging to see delegates from across Europe and the United States, showing the global scope of subject matter and researchers in the discipline.
These speakers included CEPH Research Fellow Richard Franke (pictured), presenting his work on twentieth century German industrialisation.
The papers stimulated new questions and a lively conversation on some of the themes and methods currently making waves in our discipline.
