On December 4th, CEPH PhD student Iris Wohnsiedler passed her PhD viva exam. Her dissertation, titled ‘Essays in the economic history of labour market institutions and industry locations’, passed without revisions.
Iris’ dissertation explores labour market institutions in a micro-economic context, particularly in nineteenth-century Germany. Her research sits at the intersection of microeconomics and economic history, and champions the multi-disciplinarity which the discipline esteems.
Iris has been a part of CEPH since it began and we are delighted to see her progress. Currently, she is working in a postdoctoral position in the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).
